Our Story

Checkright provides payroll, timekeeping, and human resource solutions to small businesses with as few as one to as many as 600 employees. Founded in 2010, Checkright’s mission is to help other small businesses manage their employees with best in class payroll and HR solutions, and superior customer service. A Richmond, Virginia based business, Checkright works with clients throughout the country, currently processing payroll in over 40 states. In our first ten years of business, we added more than 500 new customers and generated more than half a million paychecks. But even as we have grown, our original recipe for success is unchanged today. Our partners all want the same three things:

  • Personal service from an accessible and knowledgeable partner.
  • Pricing that represents the best value in the marketplace.

Our customers find us through referrals from our current partners or from trusted advisors like their CPA, lawyer, banker, or broker. We allocate our resources to the best technology solutions and to hiring great people. We know that the way we provide service to our customers is our true competitive advantage and that starts with following the Golden Rule in our personal interactions. All our Payroll Specialists have achieved one of the two certifications, the FPC or the CPP, available from the American Payroll Association. In 2017, we became the only Payroll Bureau in Virginia to license the Kronos software Payroll, Timekeeping, and HR products, the software of choice for our industry.
